the following theory was written by "summertimecookie":

"Haruka is very childlike
It´s obvious that Haruka is very childlike, and it seems like he has problems growing up. For example, the Japanese text is written in very basic to nearly no Kanji, which is often associated with children, also no other prisoner has the lyrics being written this way, so it is a thing special to Haruka. We also see other aspects that hint on him being childish. In undercover, he is seen in a room full of toys, we see children’s drawings everywhere, he seemingly still uses a plushie when sleeping, he has problems understanding some idioms/terms (shown in the voice drama), he is scared of fireworks, the most expensive thing he ever bought was cotton candy, he doesn´t see a difference between the feelings like and love, he loves attention and being taken care of (I wanted to be a pitied and loved weakling), he sometimes acts inappropriate in situations (laughing) and so on.

The child in the video shows two different Harukas
Haruka stated that he has no siblings, so the boy in the video must be himself. I concluded that there are two different child-Harukas, one of those two is only seen shortly though. We see the “normal” Haruka floating in the dark, looking at himself holding hands with a little girl. I assume that this shows Harukas past self, probably from when he was an actual child and now, he just thinks back to it.
However, most of the time when we see the child, it resembles the childlike personality of the grown up Haruka. This means, that most of the time we see the child, it actually is the “normal” Haruka but drawn as a child to match his personality.

The girl and the women
I came to the conclusion that the grown-up women is not his mother, but actually the girl past Haruka hold hands with. They seem to be old childhood friends and she is probably very dear to Haruka, maybe even one of his only friends (since he has problems communication at times, I wouldn´t be surprised if it was hard for him to make new friends). However, unlike Haruka, she grew up normally and so did probably everyone else around him. When growing up, it often happens for childhood friends to grow apart but since Haruka wasn´t capable of growing up in the first place, the two of them started drifting apart even more, which Haruka didn´t understand/like (Tell me, why are you drifting away from me? 0:20). The girl probably realized that Haruka was different from normal kids, and I believe that she might be the one saying things like: “You´re crazy” because that´s what he was in her eyes.

Harukas story (video chronologically)
In the beginning, the first thing we see is Haruka sitting in front of the mirror. It then showed the happy child-Haruka and the sad-looking Haruka sitting on the same spot, probably to show that this child is his true nature.

At 0:27, Haruka says: “The word I tried to say was “You´re unfair”. And those words thought how pitiful I am. This shows not only how Haruka has problems expressing himself, but also how he thinks of himself as truly pitiful. At the same time, we see him happily walking through the city with his friend, holding hands with each other.

At 0:32 he says “Why is it breaking? Please don´t change.” He probably talks about the girl and their relationship, since he doesn´t understand why she has changed so much growing up and why their friendship is breaking.

At 0:42, we see Haruka pushing his self to the ground, showing how he understands the problem being his childishness and hating it for existing.
“If only I could do what anyone else could do” (0:43) is probably him referring to all those other kids he grew up with and how they grew up and learned new things but he didn´t. At the same time, we see Haruka thinking back at his childhood, holding his friends’ hand again.

At 1:16, we see something very interesting. It seems like Haruka killed the girl, but he probably didn´t since there is no blood on his hands or on the girl. Of course, there are ways of killing someone without blood (choking for example) but I still don´t think he killed her (yet). I have several ideas what might have happened there, he could have tried to kill her, or it was just his mind trying to kill his memory of the girl she used to be as a child in order to get over her growing up. He then wakes up so he might have been just dreaming.

At 1:26, we see a lot of eyes probably judging him and maybe making fun of him for being the way he is (it might be possible that he got bullied in school since he is so different from the other kids)

1:37 “I am always repeating yesterday” probably hinting on him being like a child, since children also tend to repeat days as they have no duties in life yet and just play all day.
We then see him following the dog into the forest. The dog might actually belong to the girl, so he tries to find the dog in order to make his friend happy and get closer to her again. However, at 2:05 he kills the dog. He might have done it to erase an “enemy” since the dog probably got a lot of attention from the girl. It´s possible he thought of the dog as some sort of rival and was hoping the girl would spend more time with him again if the dog didn´t exist.

2:06: “I´ve become a victim” It´s possible that he refers to mobbing

At 2:28 He shows his hands without blood on them so I really can´t say what is going on here. Might be that the blood was just on the stone but him waking up again confused me. Did he just dream about him killing the dog or did he remember it in his dream and woke up because of it?

2:42 “Even if I keep trying it, it´s broken right away” He tries his best to let this friendship keep going but it just won´t work.

2:47 “The things that aren´t here and the unneeded things. Is it still living somewhere?” I can´t entirely say what he means by this, but we see how the women disappears, probably leaving him/ ending the friendship, which makes Haruka cry.

3:05: He starts choking himself. He probably concluded that his childish side is the reason his life is the way it is and that it is the reason for his friend to leave him. He gets so angry at him self that he, in the end, at 3:26 killed himself, figuratively, not literally of course. I think he tried “killing himself” by suppressing his childish personality as good as he could. Then, finally, after he killed himself, people notice him, and he laughs, before the video ends.
I assume he tried to live suppressing his inner child, but it must have been really hard for him. While he was killing himself, he started to cry, which he didn´t do before. He also cries at the end when he gets attention. It might be out of joy, but I personally think he is not.
I think that after a while living with his true nature suppressed like that, he might have gotten crazy at some point and killed someone, possibly the friend."
