hyperdimension neptunia is a multimedia franchise created by idea factory and compile heart, mainly focusing on video games. it focuses on many "CPUs" based over video game consoles, who rule over countries based on said consoles. the main entries are the first game, the second game, neptunia V, megadimension, and sister vs. sister.

neptunia is a really funny and awesome franchise, featuring some creative designs and some hilarious character breaks. however, it has it's fair share of darkness to balance this out (see: conquest ending. ascension ending, b-sha and anri's backstories). i really enjoy it!! however, it should be noted that the franchise isn't without it's problematic moments, so do keep in mind that there are some... Very Gross jokes in it (and some messed up CG to go with some of these incidents). other than that, i highly recommend it!

neptunia

neptunia is the CPU of planeptune, a country based on the cancelled sega neptune. she is very optimistic, and a bit-airheaded. she also has the ability to break the fourth wall (!). her favorite food is pudding, and she despises eggplants. she can turn into a "goddess" known as purple heart to defeat threats.

noire

noire is the CPU of lastation, an industrialized nation which is based on - you guessed it - the playstation. she is rather arrogant and acts a bit like a tsundere, but is also smart and beautiful. she can transform into black heart to fight alongside her fellow CPUs.

blanc

blanc is the CPU of lowee, a winter wonderland based on the nintendo wii. despite her source of origin, she is easy to set off into potty-mouthed fits of rage (especially when it comes to the subject of her flat chest). despite this, she does have a warm side to her, and is an aspiring author. she can turn into the CPU white heart, who is even more angry then her normal self.

vert

vert is the CPU of leanbox, a nation based on the xbox. on the surface, she appears to be elegant and charming, but behind closed doors, she is a dedicated gamer. many characters are allured by her... well, balloons due to their size. she longs for a sister that she does not have (since the xbox has no portable equivalent). she can turn into the CPU green heart, who is much more serious about fighting.

nepgear

nepgear is neptune's sister, representing the sega game gear. she is calmer than neptune, and very friendly to many people. she is an enthusiast when it comes to technology. she can transform into the cpu candidate, purple sister, and fight alongside her sister and the other candidates.

uni

uni is the younger sister of noire, representing the playstation portable. she is far more of a tsundere than her sister, and can be considered an "ice queen" - however, she eventually does warm up after a while of getting to know her. she can transform into black sister and fight alongside noire.

rom

rom is one of blanc's two twin sisters that represent the nintendo DS. she is extremely shy and doesn't like opening up to new people very much. she is only comfortable around blanc and ram. she can transform into one half of white sister and fight alongside blanc and ram.

ram

ram is the other of the twin sisters representing the DS. while she is more happy and excitable than rom, she is still pretty shy herself, and for a while treated rom as a security blanket. she loves playing pranks on the others with her sister. she can transform into the other half of white sister and fight alongside her siblings.

plutia

in another dimension, this adorable girl takes neptune's place as the CPU of planeptune. on the surface, plutia is a sleepy and friendly girl who makes plush dolls of her friends. set her off, however, and plutia takes the form of iris heart, a sadistic CPU who greatly traumatizes anyone whom she attacks.

peashy

a cute five-year-old taken into the bassilicom run by neptune and plutia, who was later turned into a CPU by rei ryugu and her minions. she behaves as any child would - hyperactive, clingy, and overall fun to have around. as the CPU yellow heart, however, peashy becomes the most powerful CPU that anyone has seen, including exceeding vert's balloon size.

uzume

a mysterious cpu, hailing from a universe where the nations fell into ruin. she is confident and determined, and enjoys the company of others. underneath this happy facade lies a split personality known as "kurome" and a very tragic past. (i wish i could give her a hug)

gray sister

a dangerous cpu who caused the cpus to fall into a sleep for 2 years, leaving them to wake up to a mysterious "trendi outbreak". she has caused much trouble for the world of neptunia, but has a tragic motive for doing so. that's all i'll say on her, since i don't want to spoil the new game.
